We’re John and Shannon Newton. Welcome to the Great Adventure! We love traveling in our motorhome, but we’re not your normal RV’ers. We don’t live in our RV. And we don’t spend weekends at fancy RV resorts. Instead, traveling in our RV allows us to find rest from the physical and mental stress of our daily lives. Plus, it’s fun!
John is a former broadcaster and journalist. In his 30’s he became physically disabled and can no longer work. Travel is one way that he finds rest while he suffers from multiple illnesses that make life difficult. RV travel allows John to see the country in a living environment that meets his specific needs … and to fill his desire to experience new places.
As for Shannon (that’s me!) … I’m a counselor. And as a mental health professional, I often dig deep into people’s lives and help them find hope in the midst of the darkness and despair they experience. Because of my job, I need emotional and mental rest, and RV travel provides that for me. Even though I often have to work on the road, being able to personally recharge after seeing clients makes it possible to have the strength to give more of myself to helping others.
Our RV is a place of refuge for both of us … and traveling is where we find inspiration and joy. We really want to help others in similar situations and to show ways to both endure hardship and to find rest through the RV lifestyle. We also want to give you tips on how to make travel easier if you need rest and re-connection like we do.
They say life is an adventure … and RV’ing is a big part of our life. We invite you to come along with us on our Great Adventure and find escape … and, hopefully, inspiration.
